Winter Self Care Tips
Winter can be a "not so good" time of year for many. It gets dark outside early and it feels like it's midnight when it's only 5pm! This can really impact your mood and your approach to your day-to-day living.
Here are a few ideas that can help you get through these colder months:
1.Keep a gratitude list or journal. This will help your thoughts stay more positive and help with self esteem amongst other things. List 3-5 things daily that you are truly grateful for. It sounds cliche, but it really helps with mindset.
2. Get outside! I know the temps are cooler, but bundle up and get some fresh air. It's so easy to stay cooped up in the house with the heater on and feeling cozy. The fresh air & sunlight will do you and your mood some good!
3. Get moving! Staying curled up on the couch with the fireplace going feels so good, right? I know. But our bodies are meant to move. If exercising outdoors in cooler weather is not your thing, find a great indoor work out that works for you. There's many apps and online workouts out there!
4.Stay hydrated. It's so easy to fill up on our favorite warm beverages this time of year, but don't forget about good 'ole water. And don't neglect your outter skin. Using moisture rich body butters this time of year can definitely keep your skin hydrated.
5. Warm baths does wonders for the body. When was the last time you relaxed in a warm bath with a good book? Thank me later for this one if you decide to try this amazing bath soak.
6. Be around good people. Prioritize being around people that make you happy. Family, friends, your pets. I realize that many people are not yet doing big gatherings, but thank goodness for technology. A video call do just the trick!
